POSITION PURPOSE:

Effectively and efficiently process all receipts for Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center, in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

o Post personal payments, answer patient account calls

o Read and process Explanation of Benefits

o Prepare daily deposit to go to the bank

o Make accounts private after insurance payment or denial

  • Prepare daily receipt reconciliation

ASSOCIATED RESPONSIBILITITES

o Determine if an account has been overpaid or underpaid; investigate the steps that took place

o Assist in special projects as needed

o Other duties as assigned

CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED

o None

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

o High school or equivalent education

o Post high school office experience or business school training

o Data entry

o Medical office experience

LANGUAGE AND REASONING SKILLS

o Professional communication skills; ability to write understandable notes in accounts

o Excellent problem solving skills

o Good phone etiquette in dealing with insurance companies and other payers

o Knowledge of basic office machinery

o Knowledge of insurance contracts

o Able to read and understand Explanation of Benefits

o Able to understand transactions on accounts

MATHEMATICAL AND COMPUTER SKILLS

o Basic computer skills

o Excellent math computation skills

o Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

o Able to sit and work in front of computer for extended periods of time

o Able to handle interruptions

o Able to work quickly and thoroughly

o Punctual and flexible with schedule and duties as needs arise

o Strong ability to work as part of a cohesive team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
