What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respiratory Therapist position at Black River Memorial Hospital?
- Part-time, 48 hours per pay period, night shift, benefited
- Part-time, 48 hours per pay period, day shift, benefited
Essential Duties Include:
- Provides patient and family-focused care throughout the patient’s stay.
- Evaluates patient assessments and responses to interventions and takes appropriate action according to established standards.
- Participates in patient and family education as evidenced by teaching documentation on appropriate forms.
- Initiates effective discharge and referral plans on admission utilizing appropriate hospital and community resources.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of required competencies, including, but not limited to ventilators, BiPap/CPAP, and other respiratory modalities.
Educational Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Respiratory Care required
- Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with 1 year of experience
- BLS and NRP within 3 months of hire
- ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire
- Current licensed Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner
