Description and Qualifications
The Dog Handler is responsible for care & general maintenance of the kennel and surrounding spaces for the health and well-being of the dogs and for the guests' enjoyment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform daily tasks pertaining to the upkeep of the kennels
- Complete kennel daily chores, including watering, feeding, and cleaning of stalls
- Tour guests around the kennel, communicate about the breed and what we do at BF
- Identify dog problems and communicate to supervisor
- Organize and maintain kennel related tools and equipment
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance in required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers and interact with our guests.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must have general knowledge of or interest in dogs

Computer literacy, including experience with Excel and Word

Ability to engage with visiting guests and children
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have excellent verbal & written skills

Must be able to communicate with all levels of Team Members and Guests in a professional and courteous manner
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Understanding of basic math
REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Must be able to be on feet for majority of the day

Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Must be able to safely operate a golf cart or company vehicle
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to work for extended periods outdoors in heat, cold, rain, or other extreme weather conditions
