What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant position at Blackhawk Veterinary Hospital?
Blackhawk Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full or part-time Veterinary Assistant to become the next member of our team.
We’re Looking For:
- Veterinary assistants (cross trained with front desk duties is a plus!)
- Positive, high energy team players with great communication and multi-tasking abilities
- Self-starters who pay excellent attention to detail, are outgoing and friendly, and enjoy connecting with clients as well as the team
- Individuals who take initiative, are willing to help others and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
Your Responsibilities:
- Small animal handling
- Assisting throughout the hospital as needed, especially at the front desk
- Client communication and education
- Gentle animal handling and restraint
- Administering medication, vaccines, and injections
- Blood draws
- Pharmacy duties
- Lab work
- Handling medical records
- Outpatient procedures
- Ensuring that the hospital is always clean and presentable
