Retail Sales Associate
For over 10 years, Blacksburg Eye Associates has helped our patients see and look their best. If you like helping people, have a knack for style or fashion, and want to be in an environment for personal and career growth, this eyewear sales position in Blacksburg, VA is for you! We have an amazing team of 20 full-time employees, four of which dedicated to our optical showroom and we are looking to grow our optical team!
Eyewear Sales Responsibilities
Building lasting relationships! Don’t “sell” them something. Learn the products, educate the patients on the benefits of certain things, and help guide them to make a good decision. They will buy from us if they see a benefit; show them the benefits!
Guiding patients from the beginning. In the patient’s eyes you are the expert— they don’t know if you’ve been working here for three weeks or three years. We’ll teach you to help select eyewear that fits their lifestyle, prescription, and needs.
Providing frame and lens care. Our doctors provide the patients with the best possible care in the exam and therapy rooms, and we need you to do the same in the optical showroom! We’ll show you how to help take care of the glasses and sunglasses, including cleaning and repair.
Positively impact office morale. We pride ourselves on striving to keep a positive work environment – but it takes work! We need our team members to always be ready to greet patients and coworkers with a smile, help where needed, and keep the office running smoothly. Teamwork makes the dream work!
Be flexible. You already know multitasking is an acquired and very important skill. You also know you’ll be wearing a few different “hats.” You will learn how our systems work so you can help the patients check out, schedule their follow-ups, order their glasses or contacts, or figure out how best to use their vision benefits. But don’t worry, it won’t be just you, you’ll be part of an amazing team!
Eyewear Sales Associate Qualifications
To ensure our patients get the quality care they deserve, we seek a professional with the following qualifications. (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous history of customer service.
- Previous sales experience is preferred even if not in eyewear.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for social interactions and medical documentation.
- Flexibility to adapt to variable situations and circumstances.
- Willingness to participate as part of a team.
- Be flexible, humble, and willing to learn. You will be required to complete online and in-house training.
