QC Inspector (Contract/ Temp to Perm)

Summary

We have a current opportunity for a Contract Quality Assurance Inspector for 6 months, located at our facility in Goleta, CA. In this role, you will be performing in-process inspections and receiving inspections of aerospace parts.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspection of purchased parts and subassemblies. Verify supplier compliance with all purchase order requirements, specifications, and/or drawing requirements.
• Conduct dimensional inspections using hand-held instruments to measure parts and assemblies to drawing requirements.
• Perform in-process inspections of assembled hardware per drawing requirements. Verify accuracy of entries on data sheets, work orders, adhesive mixes, and other data-keeping systems.
• Perform final inspections of assembled hardware per drawing requirements and serve as liaison to the program Quality Engineer. Assist in the investigation of non-conformities.
• Accurately document the results of inspections.
• Review work orders prior to closure to verify part counts, condition, operation completion, kit list accuracy, and labeling. Support collection of data for End Item Data Packages.
• Perform source inspections at sub-tier suppliers, as needed.

Ideal Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years of experience in Quality Inspection, preferably in a high-reliability, small-batch, high-variety manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read technical drawings and prints.
• Understanding of the setup and use of mechanical inspection tools.
• Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of aerospace systems, methodology, and terminology.
• Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO9001 requirements.
• Experience documenting product quality using Word, Excel, and web-based systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working in environments with shifting priorities.
• Understanding of calibration systems and internal controls.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and heights of 30 ft. using a scissor lift.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
• Occasional travel up to 5–10% for project testing.

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
