What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gift Shop Supervisor position at Blanchard Valley Health System?
PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The Auxiliary operates the Blanchard Valley Health System retail operations (i.e. : Gift Shops, Nearly New Shop) as a service to visitors, patients, employees and the community. Proceeds from these retail operations are used to support special projects within Blanchard Valley Health Systems operations. This position will direct the operation of the Health System's retail operations.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Duty 1 : Prepares and manages budget to ensure fiscal responsibility as well as continued sales growth.
- Duty 2 : Prepares goals and objectives, develops and implements policies and procedures.
- Duty 3 : Compliments and coordinates efforts with sales volunteers with a focus on Service Excellence and enhancement of proceeds.
- Duty 4 : Cultivates and maintains relationships with outside vendors and retail suppliers
- Duty 5 : Develops and maintains efficient and accurate methods and systems for financial operations. Prepares monthly and annual financial reports. Maintains vendor files, merchandise invoices, inventory records and cash revenues.
- Duty 6 : Collaborates with PR and Marketing department to enhance social media presence
- Duty 7 : Directs and coordinates the quality and types of merchandise that is deemed appropriate in conjunction with the volunteers. Works within set buying policies and procedures. Must ensure good inventory management and control. Plans schedules, organizes and presents special events and promotions.
- Duty 8 : Develops market strategies and maintains the appropriate merchandise mix and price point.
- Duty 9 : Acts as a liaison between Blanchard Valley Health System and the Auxiliary Board.
- Duty 10 : Supports and adheres to the mission, vision and values of the Blanchard Valley Health System.
- Duty 11 : Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, sitting and standing. The associate will be required to walk for up to one hour a day, sit continuously for one hour a day and stand for six hours a day. The individual must be able to lift twenty to fifty pounds and reach work above the shoulders. The individual must have good eye-hand coordination and fine finger dexterity for simple grasping tasks. The individual must have excellent verbal communication skills to perform daily tasks. The associate must have corrected vision and hearing in the normal range.
