Accounting Specialist – Convenience Store Operations - Bear Lake , MI
Blarney Castle Oil Co. is looking for full time Accounting Specialist to join the team in the Bear Lake, Michigan home office. As an Accounting Specialist in our Retail Operation Group you will audit, verify and reconcile daily and monthly transactions for our an assigned group of our EZ Mart convenience stores. This role ensures transactions are recorded accurately and comply with the company’s accounting policies and procedures.

As an Accounting Specialist you will:
- Reconciliation and verification of various transactions for assigned convenience stores, subway, cardlock and commission locations. This includes but not limited to: Bank deposits, coupons, paid outs, credit cards, fuel, etc
- Weekly reconciliation of State of Michigan lottery.
- Entering and correction of C-Store invoicing for inventory accuracy.
- Importing and reconciliation of fuel Bill of Ladings.
- Balancing and posting local charges.
- Identify any variances and resolve with store leadership and area management.
- Provide customer support to resolve credit card charges being disputed.
- Prepare month-end reconciliations and activities supporting month-end closing. This includes but not limited to: Review all processed and approved reconciliations, counting and mailing coupons to appropriate manufacturer, shredding, and file cabinet organization, etc.
- Follow accounting policies and procedures. Complete company-required training within established guidelines.
Required skills & abilities for this position include:
- High school diploma or GED, combined with previous bookkeeping experience are required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with Store Managers effectively are necessary.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to organize and prioritize daily and weekly tasks are essential.
- Math skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Accuracy and data entry skills are required.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment is necessary.
- Computer literacy and experience using spreadsheet application software are required.
