BleachTech Maintenance and Reliability Manager
Overtime Status: Exempt
Reports to: Plant Manager
BleachTech LLC is a privately owned Ohio company which manufactures sodium hypochlorite, caustic soda and hydrochloric acid via a brine to bleach process at two manufacturing sites: Seville OH and Petersburg VA. BleachTech plays a key role in supplying essential chemicals for drinking and wastewater treatment, as well as a number of industrial applications
Summary: The Maintenance and Reliability Manager will oversee the maintenance department to include preventative maintenance, project management and oversee department staff.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert regarding mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
- Drive the Maintenance and Reliability initiative focused on Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, not reactive.
- Manage, maintain, and establish maintenance procedures to ensure production meets or exceeds goals.
- Conduct Failure Analysis on critical assets and equipment to eliminate root cause(s) of failure and develop improvements to prevent future occurrences
- Participate in the quality assurance of new builds and modifications to assure adherence to functional specifications
- Perform other duties by coordinating work with outside inspections, providing project management, ensuring safety of personnel, and performing other duties as required.
- Review current maintenance policies and procedures to optimize maintenance program effectiveness; develop improvements to decrease asset downtime
- Create, optimize, and validate asset PM’s and PM frequencies
- Review and develop spare part requirements and work with Maintenance Supervisor to ensure proper stock levels of critical equipment
- Work with existing staff to become familiar with current Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability policies, procedures, and personnel
- Provide direction in technical matters to maintenance technicians and supervisory personnel.
- Work with Maintenance Supervisor to ensure Technicians have proper training, equipment, and management support to accomplish maintenance tasks safely, effectively, and on time
- Develop staff and supervisor skills by conducting training meetings; one on one development sessions; outside technical skills training; and establishing and monitoring performance reviews for supervisors.
- Work with Maintenance Supervisor to mentor and train maintenance technicians (new and existing) to provide increased equipment effectiveness and to ensure program sustainability
- Completes performance evaluations on direct reports and monitors progress on goals and objectives.
- Verify Performance Evaluations are being completed on the technical work force by his/her direct report.
- Ensure the team follows all company policies and procedures.
- Makes sure the team adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations.
- Able to work a flexible schedule and be willing to travel as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
Candidates with Extensive experience in maintenance and reliability management will be considered. Bachelors degree in electrical, mechanical or related field preferred. Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years technical experience with degree; or minimum of 15 years without degree
Minimum of five years managerial experience overseeing technical staff.

Frequently must squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. Daily uses hand strength to grasp tools, supplies and equipment. Frequently climbs ladders. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to wear a full face respirator and pass OSHA required respirator fit testing prior to employment and annually during employment.

Frequently works with toxic or caustic chemicals. Frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock, mechanical hazards, explosive hazards, burn hazards, chemical hazards. Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat. Magnetic fields, which pose a danger to individuals with pacemakers.
