Infant/Toddler Aide
In partnership with and assisting the Fully Qualified Classroom Teacher:
- ● Cares for and attends to the needs of children at the facility including dressing, feeding*, checking breathing and monitoring their activities
- ● Prepares developmental milestones (every 6 months)
- ● Naptime assistance and overseeing sleeping patterns
- ● Assist Teacher with classroom activities and encourage participation
- ● Facilitates morning and afternoon breaks
- ● Cleans and sanitizes toys, furniture, and play equipment
- ● Change diapers
- ● Ensure children have adequate supplies from home, such as diaper cream and diapers
- ● Performs other related duties as assigned
*Spoon feeding/bottle feeding
- ● Excellent communication skills with parents, teachers, and staff
- ● Able to maintain confidentiality
- ● Will be required to teach curriculum that is aligned with the Christian faith
- ● Ability to be patient and understanding when working with children and interacting with parents
- ● Ability to respond promptly to the needs of the infant/toddler/child
- ● Knowledge of childcare principles and procedures
- ● Ability to relate to children and make the childcare facility an enjoyable atmosphere
- ● Knowledge of early childhood teaching strategies in 1:1, small group and large group settings
- ● Interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math)
- ● High school diploma or equivalent required
- ● A minimum of 6 ECE Units (or must be enrolled)
- ● Infant Teachers and Aide must posses 3 Infant Units
- ● At least one year of related experience is preferred
- ● Effective time management, and organizational skills
- ● Have basic computer, internet, and mobile application skills
- ● Certification in first aid and CPR preferred on date of hire*
- ● Must pass a criminal background check
*May be required to achieve CPR within the first 30 days of employment
- ● Able to observe, hear, and respond to children's needs emergencies, and conflicts that might occur in a classroom, on the playground, bathroom, or other common areas
- ● Able to lift up to 50 lbs. from the floor to a waist-high table multiple times per day
- ● Able to quickly react to a child 30 feet away without danger to the staff's health
- ● Able to squat to a child's height maintain eye contact at child's level, sit on the floor, and stand tall enough to reach children on the highest piece of equipment
- ● Able to determine cognitive, social, and physical needs of children, and to communicate both in writing and verbally in the English language at a level the parents and other staff can understand and respond
- ● Able to handle highs and lows that occur within the childcare industry
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
