We have an excellent opportunity for a Warehouse Specialist to join our Materials Management team at Bloodworks Northwest. The incumbent will be under the general guidance of the Warehouse Lead, assisting in the timely and accurate receiving and storing of stock and non‐stock supplies and equipment from the central storage facility to all Bloodworks' locations.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
  • Receive, inspect, verify, accept, store, and/or reject all incoming supplies and equipment.
  • Receive requests and fill floor supply requisitions from various departments.
  • Record refrigerator temperature readings daily.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of inventory counts as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate rotation of stock as required.
  • Advise the Warehouse Lead of any shortages and/or discrepancies relating to inbound, outbound, or current inventory.
  • Assist in the recording, both manually and by computer terminal, of all necessary paperwork as it relates to the control of stockroom items.
  • Data entry, record keeping, and other general administrative duties.
  • Keep the storeroom in a tidy and clean manner as appropriate.
  • Participate in process and workflow improvement opportunities.
  • Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as written.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school graduate or G.E.D.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving; 2 or more years preferred.
SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS include, but are not limited to:
  • Possess current forklift operator certification.
  • Demonstrated practical interpersonal communication skills.
  • Required mental activities include continuous use of the ability to read, speak, write, and understand English, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills. Required mental activities used less frequently include decision-making, interpersonal skills, teamwork, customer service, performing basic Math, and independent judgment and/or independent action (used frequently); creativity, use of discretion, and problem analysis (used occasionally); and negotiation and selling (used rarely).
  • Required physical activities include continuous standing, walking, stooping, sitting, bending, kneeling, talking, reaching, hearing, and handling. Required physical activities used less frequently include repetitive motions of hands/wrists and feet.
  • Other physical activities required include the operation of electronic hi‐lift, electronic pallet jack, and manual pallet jack (frequently).
  • The ability to push, pull, lift, and carry an average of 60 pounds throughout the day is required.
  • Other job skills related to specific job functions include the use of a keyboard, fax, and copier.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Extensive walking, lifting, loading, and unloading of trucks is required in this position.
  • As this is an essential position with indirect responsibility to donors and/or patients, the incumbent should be prepared to work extended and/or consecutive shifts and/or possibly at a different location during periods of inclement weather or other emergencies.
  • Must be available to work some scheduled holidays.
  • This position involves indirect exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Shift: Monday – Friday, first shift onsite in Renton, WA.
