Lead Cashier / Merchandiser

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Cashier / Merchandiser to join our greenhouse team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service, strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively communicate and follow given instructions. As a Lead Cashier, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations at the checkout, while also providing exceptional service to our customers as well as merchandising plants and hard goods.

Duties

• Oversee daily cash register operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all transactions.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Train and mentor new cashiers on proper procedures, customer service techniques, and the use of the POS system.
• Assist with stocking shelves and growing tables, maintain product displays to ensure an organized shopping environment.
• Promote sales by effectively communicating current promotions and upselling products to customers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. .
• Utilize phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries regarding store policies or product availability.

Experience

• Plant experience and knowledge is a definite plus.
• Previous experience as a cashier retail environment is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customer bases.
• Proficient in basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and cash handling.
• Experience in sales techniques to effectively promote products and enhance customer satisfaction.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal, Temporary

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
