Position Purpose: The Technician II will be responsible for the precise electrical/mechanical components for space flight.


Title: Technician II

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Range: $25.00 - $43.00/hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Read, understand, and execute work instructions to build advanced and precise electrical/mechanical assemblies.
  • Verify built assemblies are meeting the engineering intent from an electrical/mechanical perspective.
  • Identify non-conforming issues during assembly and recommend solutions to the engineering team to overcome issues.
  • Take ownership and maintain build documentation for assemblies being built. Including filling out work instructions, non-conformance reports and logging time against the applicable work order.
  • Be willing to cross train in multiple areas of specialty.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Perform tasks with a high level of integrity
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
  • Provide input for continuous process improvement, develop more refined ways of assembling parts and products
  • Other responsibilities as assigned



Required Qualifications/Education:

  • 2 years’ related experience, or a two-year technical degree and 1 years related experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • MUST have experience performing precision electrical/mechanical assembly
  • Ability to read and work to engineering documentation
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques used for precision manufacturing and assembly
  • Experience using metrology tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Multi-meters, etc.)
  • Applied knowledge of GD&T (ANSI/ASME Y14.5)
  • Excellent manual dexterity, ability to handle small parts
  • Possess strong problem solving and communication abilities
  • High standard of workmanship is a must
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education



Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.  However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require BCT to shorten or extend the application window.

Specific vision abilities are required by this job which includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
