Blue Cross Animal Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota is hiring an Associate Veterinarian to join our team!  All experience levels are encouraged to apply!

Blue Cross Animal Hospital is a full-service small animal hospital, offering the best in medical and surgical care. We have been serving Hennepin County for over 50 years and have built a great reputation within the community and well-established clientele. We also have exciting news – we have the keys and will be starting construction on our brand new, 10,000 square foot hospital, which will be located on the lot next to our current location.

Our diagnostic equipment includes an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, and tonometry. We utilize the services of mobile veterinarian ultrasonographers to perform our diagnostic ultrasounds, echocardiograms, fluid sample collection, and FNAs, as needed. Our practice manager, Phil, spearheaded the huge undertaking of converting from handwritten records to electronic medical records and we are happy to be paperless and use AVImark.

At Blue Cross, we perform a variety of routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries and dentistry. We also use board-certified surgeon, Dr. Hammel, for advanced soft tissue and orthopedic procedures. We are very luck and have a 24/7 ER facility 1 mile away, so any post-op patients needing overnight care and monitoring can be easily transferred, as well as daytime emergencies if our doctors’ schedules are full.

Most importantly, we have a phenomenal, well-trained support staff with a 3.5:1 support staff to doctor ratio. All our staff are cross trained to support in all areas of the hospital. At Blue Cross, we have a positive work culture where everyone enjoys working together and many of our staff have been here long-term. To round out the group, our practice manager, Phil, keeps our practice running smoothly and is constantly looking for ways we can improve, including becoming AAHA and Fear Free certified at our new location.
