The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting completes a wide range of tasks resulting in ensuring timely and accurate financial statements to include Leading in the preparation and reporting of internal and external financial statements and reports, recording and reconciling monthly financial statement data, providing monthly general ledger variance analysis, facilitating audit inquiries, preparing various state-mandated filings, and promoting a teamwork environment.
Job-Specific Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Must have at least 2-3 years of experience working at the staff accountant level.
- CPA, on CPA track, or eligibility to sit for the CPA, preferred.
- Working knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- PC skills required to include the Microsoft Office suite.
- Must have strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Insurance accounting background or working SAP (Statutory Accounting Principles) knowledge preferred.
- Experience using a Mainframe or PC based Financial Software Package is preferred.
