What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista/Cashier position at Blue Hat Coffee?
Responsibilities:
- Full time position, 35-40 hours a week.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and espressos
- Take customer orders and process payments using a cash register or POS system
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and making recommendations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the quality and freshness of food and beverages
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and timely service
- Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and resolve issues to their satisfaction
Experience:
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and different coffee blends is a plus
- Familiarity with basic math skills for cash handling and order processing
- Ability to operate a cash register or POS system accurately
- Strong sales skills to promote additional products or upsell to customers
- Understanding of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and provide friendly service
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
