What are the responsibilities and job description for the Large Account Sales position at Blue Heron Construction Services?
Blue Heron Construction is the premier roofing and general contracting company in Southwest Houston and the Greater Houston area. With over 25-years of experience in the industry, we are looking to expand our team and grow our business.
We are currently searching to fill in our Large Account Sales position. The primary focus will be securing government contracts as well as selling services to commercial businesses and large apartment complexes. We want to concentrate on roofing sales but we also have the capability of doing flooring, windows, painting, etc. Most of these government contracts range anywhere between $100,000 to $5,000,000.
Responsibilities
- Reach out to local government, commercial businesses, and apartment complexes to sell our services to
- Find government contracts online through SAM and other local county and municipal websites
- Go to government contracting events, attend local business groups and other potential networking events
- Build relationships, find decsion makers, sign people up to contracts
- Keep track of clients and update their status on our Acculynx system
- Inspect potential projects, take pictures, take measurements
- Create business proposals, complete government document forms, and work on drafting quotes with the office
- Attend learning seminars to communicate to your clients the products we install and how the process is done
- Document and take photos of projects. Before, during, and after photos
- Other responsibilities may apply
Must be able to
- Have reliable transportation and travel around the Houston area
- Be comfortable with consistent face to face customer interaction
- Know how to use Excel, Word and work online (fill out forms, find contact info, etc.)
- Climb a ladder and get on a roof
- Lift at least 25 lbs.
- Have an independent nature, self-discipline, and good time management
- Have a smartphone capable of taking pictures/video

- Has sales experience. This is a huge plus
- A problem solver. Does not get overwhelmed and comes up with solutions

- A team player. Work with the office to accomplish your tasks and also willing to help others, not expecting anything in return
- Speaking Spanish is a plus
