Position Overview:
Blue Mountain Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Insurance Enrollment Specialist to join our Business Office team. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with insurance enrollment, providing information on available plans and eligibility.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits through direct contact with insurance companies and online systems.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the billing department to resolve insurance-related issues or discrepancies.
- Educate patients on their insurance benefits and coverage options.
- Help patients complete necessary paperwork, ensuring accurate and prompt submission.
- Track and follow up on pending insurance applications and approvals.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing insurance and billing questions or concerns.
- Educate patients on Self Pay policy and process.
- Advise patients on the Healthcare Assistance Program (HAP) application and ensure completeness.
- Coordinate with the Self Pay committee to approve HAP applications.
- Participate in cross-training initiatives to support other roles within the department and contribute to a unified team effort.
Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in insurance enrollment, medical billing, or a related field is a plus but not required.
- Strong knowledge of insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office and insurance verification systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bilingual skills (preferred but not required).
