What are the responsibilities and job description for the Taproom Bartender position at Blue Oak Brewing?
Blue Oak Brewing in San Carlos is looking for a motivated and social individual to join the team as a Taproom bartender. This individual must have a passion for a high level of customer service and professionalism. Prior experience within the industry is highly desirable. Said individual will participate with our taproom operations while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Blue Oak is ideally looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about craft beer and our brand, and wants to grow professionally within the company. The ideal candidate will have prior craft beer experience and be competent at describing beers and troubleshooting tap lines. We are located in San Carlos, Ca.
Roles & Responsibilities:
· Stock taproom beer and supplies
· Be familiar with Taproom Menu (both food and beverage) in print and on website
· Develop procedures for, and oversee, keeping the facility organized/orderly/clean
· Adherence to specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of the taproom
· Follow taproom opening and closing procedures
· Follow safety protocols in the taproom
· RBS training desirable, will be provided as necessary
· Maintain a clean and welcoming taproom environment at all times
· Interface with the brewing staff to understand beer on our menu and product quality
· Become highly proficient in the use of our point of sale (POS) system and continue to update and maintain POS terminals
· Must be able and willing to work weekends, daytime, evenings, and holidays
Job Requirements:
· At least 21 years old
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Prior experience in a relevant service industry role
Physical Requirements:
· Bar atmosphere, loud, warehouse conditions
· Ability to frequently reach with hands and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
· Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
· Strong communication skills
· Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
· Ideally at least two years or working in a taproom/bar
· In-depth knowledge of and appreciation for the craft beer industry and emerging trends
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggle conflicting priorities, and consistently maintain high quality output
· Excellent time management
· Natural "jump-in-and-help"/ team player mentality
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, professional attitude. You will be on the “front line”, the face of the brand, and as such, a critical team member!
Compensation BOE. Tips from bar shifts are included in compensation totals.
