TRAIL GUIDES, CONCESSIONS, TICKET CHECK-IN & PARKING STAFF

- Pay: Up to $20/hour depending on the position and availability
- Length of Program: Thursday, June 16th through December - This is a great job for individuals looking for part-time summer work as well as those interested in working through the end of December
- Hours: Because the gates open to the public at sunset, the average schedule during the summer months is 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Thursday through Sunday. Onsite hours increase as we approach the fall and winter months as gates can open as early as 5 p.m.
TRAIL GUIDES
Trail Guide staff provide a number of mission critical services on site. From ensuring the safety of our guests, to providing support to those needing additional assistance, your main role is to ensure a fun and safe experience for all attendees.
The Bread & Butter
Trail Guide staff are to arrive onsite one hour before gates open to assist with the opening checklist. Duties include turning on portions of the trail, helping to reset areas that are required to be taken down each night, and general clean-up of the premises. Trail Guides are to check-in with the on-site lead every day upon arrival for their action list as well as at the end of the night. During the show, Trail Guides will be given stations or routes along the trail to monitor. The primary objective is visitor safety. Trail Guides will monitor the guests for any unacceptable behavior and report via radio to the site lead should something be discovered. Drug use, lewd/derogatory language, sexual and/or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated and must be dealt with promptly.
Additional Activities May Include:
- Assisting visitors who have questions (restroom locations, lost and found, etc.).
- Ensuring nobody wanders off the marked trail.
- Ensuring nobody is tampering with the equipment.
Experience/Characteristics Required:
- No formal experience required, but having a customer service background is a plus.
- Must be kind, reliable, social, and have the ability to adapt.
CONCESSIONS
Concessions staff will be busy serving fun beverages, snacks and merchandise to our visitors. The primary objective is quality customer service for our guests.
The Bread & Butter
Concessions staff are to arrive 1.5 hours before doors open to perform the opening checklist and ensure we are well stocked for the evening. Duties include greeting and serving customers, using an iPad and credit card reader to capture orders (training provided), booth setup, inventory checks, restocking items such as beverages, snacks and merchandise, occasional pick up/drop off of seasonal items such as hot chocolate, hot cider and or/coffee, and a detailed process at the end of the shift that includes balancing the cash box and cleaning/organizing the booth (wiping countertops, mopping floors, etc.).
Activities include:
- Ensuring no one is overserved. We want all guests to be safe from the point of arrival through departure.
- Be an ambassador of Glenlore and put your sales hat on! Demonstrate how the merchandise works and offer items that might have been missed by guests. There is a lot to choose from and something might catch their eye if they know about it.
- Assisting the other staff members in monitoring the guests for unacceptable behavior.
Experience/Characteristics Required:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Some customer service background and/or sales experience is a plus.
- Must be kind, reliable, loyal, and honest.
- Must be comfortable handling, counting, and being responsible for money.
TICKET CHECK-IN
Ticket Check-In staff are the first point of interaction for guests so quality customer service is top priority! You will be key in setting the stage for a fun and memorable experience from the very start. Greet and welcome the guests, assist them with ticket check-in, then direct them to concessions/walking the trail.
The Bread & Butter
Ticket Check-In staff are to arrive one hour before doors open to assist with the opening checklist. Duties include setting up the check-in booth (tent, table and chairs and scanning devices) and confirming all devices are working properly and have a full charge before your shift begins.
Activities include:
- Assisting with barricade setup for parking.
- Communicating with concessions for onsite ticket purchases.
- Forming an organized line for customers.
- Ensuring all customers entering the trail have a ticket, either purchased online or onsite.
- Assisting the other staff members in monitoring the guests for unacceptable behavior.
Experience/Characteristics Required:
- No formal experience required, but having a customer service background is a plus.
- Must be kind, reliable and upbeat.
- Must be comfortable with working a handheld device for scanning tickets and searching names for those who don’t have their tickets on them.
PARKING
Parking staff play an important role in ensuring an organized experience for our guests. There are several parking areas onsite and we want our customers to know exactly where to go from the point of entry to departure.
The Bread & Butter
Parking staff are to arrive one hour before doors open. You will be responsible for greeting customers as they arrive, directing them to a parking spot and then guiding them to the Ticket Check-In area. If guests arrive early to tailgate before their ticketed time slot, you will be responsible for monitoring them for unacceptable behavior while in the parking area.
Activities include:
- Setting up barricades to block off the parking lot near check-in/concession area as lines will be forming there.
- Setting up and removing directional signage.
- Contributing to the safety of our guests by closely watching for children running in the parking lot.
- Cleaning up the parking lot at the end of the night (picking up trash left behind by visitors).
Experience/Characteristics Required:
- No formal experience required, but having a customer service background is a plus.
- Must be kind and reliable.
