We are looking for a Property Accountant to join our corporate team in Roseville, CA. You will assist the Sr. Accounting Manager in performing general accounting functions for a growing residential property management company. This includes maintaining records for assigned properties as well as reconciling accounts, maintaining the general ledger and preparing for month-end close.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Manage and maintain the books for assigned multifamily properties for a growing property management company.
- Assist with monthly revenue reconciliation.
- Review financial documents and accounting records to assess completeness and accuracy.
- Monitor property and portfolio cash positions, process payables for property portfolios and resolve payment questions
- Prepare accruals and reconcile balance sheet accounts including monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare financial statements and assist with budgets according to schedule
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Communicate effectively and oversee quality control for accounts payable staff.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Associate's Degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field
- Three to five years of full cycle accounting experience required
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks while working with minimal supervision
- Customer focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Preferred property management experience
- Knowledge or experience with property management software a plus (we currently use Entrata)
Salary ranges are based on paying competitively for size and industry. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. The ranges shared are for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced or more senior than this job description as posted.
