Steel Erection Journeyman - Destrehan, LA

Bo-Mac Contractors, Ltd. in the Destrehan, LA area is offering challenging and exciting career opportunities for Steel Erection Journeyman. We are seeking an experienced Steel Erection Superintendent to oversee and manage our steel erection projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel construction, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Position Responsibilities

• Assemble and install steel framework and other metal parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine the layout of the structural components.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to cut, shape, and join steel.
• Ensure all work meets safety standards and building codes.
• Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects on time and within budget.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Steel Erector or similar role.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Excellent physical stamina and hand-eye coordination.
• Certification in welding or rigging is a plus.
  
  

Prefered Experience

Preference given to candidates with a minimum of 5 years of work experience as a steel erection journeyman at meets or exceeds performance expectations.
