Overview:
Supervise all aspects of daily AP department activity, including but not limited to the administration and performance of all aspects of Accounts Payable processing. A/P Supervisor will have experience in managing a high growth A/P department as well as working well in a fast-paced environment. The A/P Supervisor will be integral in evolving and streamlining our procure-to-pay processing tasks.
Job Description:
Essential Functions
- Assist as necessary with data entry, vendor inquiries, resolving problems.
- Trains and oversees employees involved in the procure-to-pay functions.
- Ensures correct payments are made in a timely manner.
- Observe, evaluate, and set performance goals for staff.
- Assist the Accounts Payable Manager as appropriate with reporting and administrative support.
- Supervise the review of outstanding unmatched payables documentation and vendor statements.
- Communicate with the AP Manager about all items requiring special attention.
- Maintain relationships with internal employees and vendors, providing timely feedback on inquiries.
- Oversee and assist with the monthly closing process for Accounts Payable.
- Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
- Provide guidance on all T&E reimbursements according to company policy and initiate the ACH reimbursement payment process.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
A.S. Degree in Business Management or related field, or commensurate job-related experience.
5-7 years of experience in a computerized accounting environment. Minimum 3 years supervisory experience, preferably as an office or department manager.
