JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
JOB TITLE: Social Services Caseworker 1 Pay: $21.56
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives, identifies, and screens all referrals of abuse, neglect, dependency, and FINS information including but not limited to referent information, child/children information, adult information, alleged perpetrator information and safety concerns. Gathers data through the SACWIS computer system and completes required information in SACWIS. Completes all required forms associated with screening referrals. Refers all cases for possible investigation to supervisor. Investigates claims of abuse and neglect and determines whether children are safe or in imminent risk of harm. Works with families at risk of child maltreatment, identifying family strengths, needs and risks or concerns that are interfering with child safety, healthy child development, and/or family stability and well-being. Uses standardized tools and protocols to assess and document safety and risk.
Creates individualized service plans and/or case plans with identified goals in partnership with family and build objectives toward achieving goals. Implements crisis intervention as needed. This position does require employee to be on 24-hour call for rotating time periods. Maintains caseload of children/families who have entered foster care or who are under protective supervision providing case management. Facilitates supportive services coordinates in home activities as required by state mandates, makes home visits, provides transportation as needed, assesses needs of families. Facilitates out of home placements/foster placements.
Implements and monitors safety plans, completes all mandated paperwork including the development of case plans/family service plans and case plan amendments. Performs necessary legal functions, filing motions and complaints, provides case summaries for court hearings, interviews witnesses for trial and participates in trail preparation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a social service-related field.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, be able to drive and operate a motor vehicle and must be insurable
