Position Summary:

Landscape Maintenance Crew Foreman leads our landscaping and maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible to scheduling work, delegating and monitoring tasks, ensuring quality control and working alongside the crew to achieve project goals efficiently and safely.

  • Develop and manage the daily and weekly work schedules for the crew to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Assign tasks to crew members based on their skills and experience and monitor their progress to ensure high standards of work.
  • Inspect ongoing and completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications. Make necessary adjustments and corrections.
  • operate and perform routine maintenance on landscaping equipment and tools, including mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
  • Engage in hands-on work with the crew, providing guidance, support, and training as needed to ensure effective task completion.
  • Maintain the aesthetics and functionality of business, residential properties, and other assigned locations.
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all crew members.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, equipment maintenance, and any incidents or issues that arise on the job.
  • Assists with landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, weeding, mulching, and general upkeep of landscapes as directed by the crew foreman.
  • Pay attention to detail to ensure high-quality work and adherence to project specifications.
  • Help maintain the aesthetics and functionality of business, residential properties, and other assigned locations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your teammates.   

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to lead and manage a team and able to motivate and guide a team effectively.
  • Ability to use and maintain landscaping machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Keen eye for detail to ensure high quality work.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to landscaping work.
  • Knowledge of grounds keeping
  • Use and care of hand tools and power equipment necessary to perform various building and equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking stooping and handling of materials.
  • The ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable and fulfilling obligations.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Able to effectively manage time and prioritize projects to meet established deadlines.
  • Able to work and communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts.
  • Basic computer skills – including ability to respond professionally to email, phone conversations, text messages, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are the minimum degrees, certifications, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of this position.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of a trade apprenticeship preferred
  • Pesticide applicator license preferred
  • Proven experience is leading a landscaping or maintenance crew with a strong background in landscaping skills.
  • CDL driver license without restrictions that affect your ability to operate company owned vehicle(s) and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug urinalysis screen.

  • Employee work requires heavy vehicle traveling and working in/out of field office areas
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • The physical demands of the job include the use of hands and fingers, reaching, bending, sitting, lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and driving and operating farm equipment.
  • The employee will frequently be exposed to neck flexion/extension, head/neck rotation, awkward shoulder/arm positions, and frequent and/or sustained awkward wrist positions
