Position Summary
Under general supervision, provide security and protection for students, staff, and visitors and prevents property loss due to theft or vandalism.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record. Meet and maintain liability coverage and eligibility.
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) years related experience.

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned campus. Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules for student conduct, vehicle operation, and parking.
- Resolve student conflict or confrontation and report disturbances to the principal or assistant principal.
- Control traffic and parking on campus grounds during school and after-hours events.
- Register student vehicles and maintain accurate records of registration.
- Work cooperatively with office personnel to inform students of vehicle problems (i.e., improperly parked, lights on, etc.)
- Assist law enforcement personnel as needed.
- Notify the police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention.
- Give directions or act as a guide to authorized visitors.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and seminars as scheduled.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Working Conditions
Tools/Equipment Used: District vehicle, two-way radio, alarm system and other security equipment, fire extinguisher, and standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals.
Physical/Motion/Posture: Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, twist, and squat on a constant basis. Prolonged sitting and standing. Strenuous walking and climbing stairs; occasional keyboarding and use of a mouse, moderate driving.
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (15–44 pounds.
Environment: Work inside and outside (moderate exposure to the sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); moderate exposure to noise and vehicle exhaust; May work prolonged or irregular hours, frequent districtwide travel on call 24 hours a day.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; work with frequent deadlines; maintain emotional control under stress.
Other: Specific hearing and visual requirements; may be subject to adverse and hazardous working conditions, including violent and armed confrontations; ability to control sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.
