Chief Operating Officer

Bold's mission is to build world-class K-12 public schools that challenge and empower all students to excel in college and life. We are committed to expanding excellence and powering the potential of students in communities across the U.S. that do not have widespread access to top-tier, college preparatory schools.

To help us achieve our vision, we are searching for an experienced leader with a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience in operations, finance, or management consulting in a non-profit or social impact environment. An MBA, MPA, JD, or graduate degree in a related field is strongly preferred. Ideal candidates will have a creative and solutions-oriented mindset, experience building and leading a team within a growing organization, and a foundational belief that every child deserves a world-class education.

Key Priorities

• Develop a deep understanding of Bold’s goals, vision, values, and model
• Drive a multi-year strategy that supports intentional, mission-aligned school expansion for Bold Pre-K and K-12 schools
• Establish key operational goals and metrics, monitoring progress and evaluating results across the organization to ensure we are meeting the highest standards
• Lead the ongoing development of data systems and tech infrastructure, designing systems that contribute to a transparent, outcomes-oriented culture across the organization
• Develop a high-performing team prepared to meet organizational objectives
• Model Bold’s core values, building a positive student and team culture
• Demonstrate a mission-first mindset to ensure all decisions and actions are rooted in ensuring that all students excel
  
  

Strong Candidates Will

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to and alignment with Bold’s mission, beliefs, and values
• Have experience leading high-performing teams and organizations to achieve ambitious goals
• Have at least five years of progressively increasing operational leadership experience at a growing organization
• Demonstrate an ability to set a strategic vision and translate data into actionable insights that drive outcomes
• Be a person of high moral character with well-developed emotional intelligence
• Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to both collaborate and work autonomously
• Demonstrate an ability prioritize strategically and multitask effectively, moving fluidly between high-level strategic thinking and operational details
• Have a keen eye for detail and proven experience developing, implementing, and maintaining organizational systems and policies
• Hold exceptionally high personal standards for performance with an excellence reflex that constantly raises the bar
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree with an outstanding record of achievement and leadership; MBA, MPA, JD, or other relevant graduate degree preferred
  
  

Start Date

The start date for this position is flexible.

Compensation

Bold Charter School offers highly competitive compensation, in the top range of comparable positions. The starting salary for this position is $165-195,000 annually and includes a full benefits package.
