Title: Boat Coordinator
Location: Pascagoula, MS
General Function:
- Role Overview: The Boat Coordinator is responsible for supervising and coordinating the production phases of vessels within a manufacturing plant. The coordinator ensures that production schedules are met and oversees various aspects of the production process. This role is performed under the general direction of a Superintendent, Plant Manager, or other Division Manager.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule Development: Develops tank dry search, launch, and delivery schedules.
- Safety Assurance: Ensures that safe working conditions are maintained in production areas.
- Compliance Coordination: Works with Foremen to ensure that products comply with company standards and specifications.
- Schedule Monitoring: Monitors the status of all schedules for assigned jobs.
- Production Coordination: Coordinates and monitors the efforts of production crafts.
- Material Management: Monitors material ordering and receiving processes to ensure timely availability of resources.
- Budget and Quality Monitoring: Monitors man-hour budgets, safety, and the quality of work.
- Client Interaction: Serves as the primary contact with the owner and owner’s representative on production-related aspects.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Manufacturing Operations Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing operations related to plant products, components, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Blueprint and Drawing Interpretation: Ability to analyze and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
- Work Planning: Ability to plan cost-effective work procedures that meet quality requirements.
- Communication and Leadership: Effective communication skills and the ability to instruct, build, and direct a production team.
Desirable Experience & Training:
- Education: High school diploma or GED, preferably supplemented by coursework in production management, industrial technology, or a related area.
- Experience: Relevant job training and 5 years of experience in plant operations and supervision are desirable.
Summary:
This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and timely completion of vessel production within the manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a good understanding of manufacturing processes, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and the capability to manage schedules, budgets, and teams effectively.
