What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder A position at BOLLINGER MISSISSIPPI SHIPBUILDING LLC?
GENERAL FUNCTION: Welds together structural metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:
Utilizes knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials including the specifications of the particular equipment to be used in the process.
Must be able to weld butts and bulbs in all positions and pass Ultrasonic (UT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) test methods.
Tank testing and associated duties as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The ability to pass a welding test in the overhead and vertical positions based on certifications being sought.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Primary Requirement - 3 years of 1st Class Journeyman marine Welding Experience. Prior experience as a welder or vocational training is acceptable.
