What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Bonumose?
Position Overview:
Under general supervision of a Principal Scientist, the Lab Technician will assist in general laboratory functions of the R&D lab supporting the biomanufacturing of healthy sugars: tagatose and allulose.
What you will do:
- E. coli fermentation for recombinant enzyme expression
- Purify enzymes by various techniques.
- Characterize enzymes for purity, activity, stability, and other properties.
- Day-to-day lab functions like equipment calibration, lab cleanliness and organization, buffer, and media preparation.
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or relevant discipline.
- Meticulous lab notebook practice.
- Understanding of laboratory safety and hygiene.
- Excellent organization and time management for performing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to problem solve and trouble-shoot.
- A desire to contribute to cutting edge work in the field of nutrition and biotechnology.

Work Environment:
Responsibilities will primarily be carried out in a Biosafety Level 1 laboratory with extended periods of standing, and occasional heavy lifting (30 lbs).
Salary: From $45,000-55,000 per year based on experience
