Description:
This position inspects API 5CT Casing threads and other Premium and Semi-Premium non- API threads (ID & OD) as per customer and industry specifications.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
1. Qualifications:
1.1. High school/ GED or equivalent work-related experience.
1.2. Minimum of one year of threading experience with Semi-Premium threads and or Premium threads.
1.3. Must be able to set up and calibrate all gauges required for each thread connection.
1.4. Intermediate arithmetic skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to read measuring equipment and procedures.
1.5. Must be able to push, pull and have good finger and hand dexterity with good hand-eye coordination.
2. Responsibilities:
2.1. Verifies material against work order requirements.
2.2. Check product thread elements and dimensions.
2.3. Verify calibration and working condition of measuring equipment.
2.4. Complete all inspection reports precisely, neatly, and on time.
2.5. Keep work area orderly with respect to materials, tools, and personal belongings.
2.6. Help problem solve any quality issues in the line.
2.7. up gauges for different work orders and thread types processed at BMP, and assist other Inspectors in completing this task.
2.8. Assist other inspectors validating thread defects as needed.
2.9. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
3. Activities:
3.1. Complete all necessary inspection reports
3.2. Identify, mark, and segregate rejects and reworks.
3.3. Assist threading quality and production teams with set ups, questions and troubleshooting issues, as needed.
3.4. Communicate Inspection results to quality and production teams.
3.5. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
3.6. Other duties as assigned.
