Boston Bioprocess Inc. is a leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) in the biotech industry. We specialize in providing innovative solutions and services to support the research, development, and manufacturing processes of our clients. As we continue to grow, we are seeking highly motivated Bioprocess Engineering Interns to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the development and scale up of fermentation and downstream processes. As an intern, you will work closely with our engineers, contributing to pilot-scale operations and improvements projects.
Job responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, setup, maintenance, and commissioning of pilot equipment and processes. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Receive, label, and process samples according to established protocols. Maintain and establish accurate documentation of sample information and experimental procedures.
- Collaborate with senior technicians and bioprocess engineers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Record and organize experimental data. Assist in the analysis and interpretation of results, contributing to the overall project objectives.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects. Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
- Identify, develop and implement creative practical solutions to improve the operations of the fermentation, downstream, and analytical processes.
- Adhere to quality control standards and assist in maintaining a clean and organized pilot space. Participate in routine maintenance and calibration of pilot and lab testing equipment.
Skills and proficiencies
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in progress a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering).
- Graduation and ability to transition to full-time employment under one year from August 2024.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Ability to work independently on given projects under the supervision of the lab / engineering team.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
