This Per diem Child Life Specialist will be responsible for:
- Participating in therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs, and facilitating adjustment to health care experiences for patients.
- Serving as member of multidisciplinary team.
- Providing coping support for patients and families when faced with trauma/grief
- Delegating work assignments to volunteers and participating in clinical training of student interns.
- Working on-call as needed to cover for staff vacations and vacancies.
To qualify, you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life.
- 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist.
- Child Life certification is required.
- General skills to resolve problems requiring the use of child development theory, professional child life principles, and experiencedbased knowledge.
- Well-developed writing skills, and excellent communication skills including conflict resolution to effectively work as a team member.
