What You Will Do

The Family Connector is a member of the BCNC Family Services team. Family Services strengthens immigrant familiesto overcome challenging issues through mental health support services, case management, educational workshops, and counseling. You will provide culturally competent and linguistically accessible behavioral and mental health support services and help Chinese-speaking immigrant families adjust to the United States. You will report directly to the Director of Family Services.

In this role, you will :

  • Create and implement a comprehensive strength-based case management and mental health counseling service plan for all assigned individuals and families.
  • Coordinate and lead Mental Health First Aid training, educational workshops and activities on behavioral health, and interagency projects to promote well-being and social connection.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation, including progress notes, activities attendance, and program data, ensuring compliance with all agency and contract regulations.
  • Assist in facilitating coalition and network meetings and support research related to behavioral health services.
  • Design and manage outreach efforts, including bilingual social media content (e.g., WeChat Public Account) and print materials (e.g., flyers and brochures) to support service engagement and community outreach.
  • Provide case management skills training and best practices for BCNC employees as needed.
  • Attend Family Services meetings and training as assigned and maintain necessary certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What We Look For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Expressive Arts Therapy, or a related field required. Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Expressive Arts Therapy, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of case management or counseling experience.
  • Proficiency in Canva, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams). Experience with social media management platforms (e.g., WeChat Public Account) preferred.
  • Experience with clinical documentation (e.g., progress notes, case management records) and commitment to maintaining accurate and compliant records.
  • Strong cultural competency, demonstrated experience working with diverse populations, and knowledge of issues affecting immigrant families.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to facilitate training sessions and present information effectively to community members and partners.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional working proficiency in writing, reading, and speaking in Cantonese or Mandarin Chinese is required.

  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule and may require local travel during the workday.
