Boston IVF is looking to bring on an Area Nurse Manager to oversee our nurses in multiple clinic locations. This position would focus on our 4 clinics across Massachusetts.
Job Purpose: The Area Nurse Manager is a professional, experienced Reproductive Endocrinology Infertility (REI) Nurse, who supervises and directs nursing care across multiple locations within the Practice. This role ensures consistent delivery of high-quality patient care, adherence to clinical protocols, and effective team management. The Area Nurse Manager collaborates with the leadership team to align nursing practices with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and patient care standards.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
- Supervises nursing staff across assigned locations, ensuring adherence to clinical policies and procedures.
- Acts as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and other departments to ensure seamless clinical operations.
- Communicates regularly with the Associate Director of Clinical Services and practice leadership regarding nursing performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Develops, implements, and monitors nursing protocols and workflows to ensure consistency and quality of care.
- Identifies, develops, and facilitates goals and objectives for the Nursing Department, as well as for individual nurses, that promote professional growth and improved performance.
- Develops, reviews and revises Nursing Workflows, Standing Orders and Clinical Practice Guidelines in collaboration with the Associate Director of Clinical Services.
- Hosts periodic lead nurse and/or monthly Nursing Meetings in collaboration with other Area Manager(s)
- Ensures Nursing staff remains up to date on business items, clinic operations, workflows, Standards of Practice, and Clinical Practice Guidelines.
- Identifies knowledge gaps and coordinates with the Education/QA Team to provide continuing education.
- Maintains leadership presence at all clinic locations through scheduled site visits (quarterly or as needed).
- Monitors and reports department KPIs.
- Ensures all offices are staffed appropriately and patient assignments are consistently distributed. Appropriately forecasts the need for additional headcount based on growth projections.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Recruits, onboards, and mentors staff, ensuring proper training and professional development.
- Develops and leads initiatives for staff retention, engagement, and satisfaction.
- Manages nursing-related budgets, including staffing, supplies, and equipment needs.
- Addresses patient complaints or concerns related to nursing services in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensures team members have the necessary training for proper performance and development.
- Maintains organization of team members’ timesheets, PTO, etc. to ensure that tasks are properly carried out
- Communicates the Company’s policies (health and safety, labor legislation, training, etc.) and ensure compliance.
Academic Training:
- Current, unrestricted State RN license – require
- Graduate from an accredited BSN program
- Studies level: Graduate of Accredited School
- Studies area: BSN program
- Master’s in nursing or healthcare administration – preferred
- BLS and/or ACLS a plus.
Position Requirements/Experience:
- 3 years’ experience in infertility medicine - required
- Prior work experience as a nurse manager may be considered in lieu of REI experience.
- Previous leadership experience - preferred
- Knowledge and experience in implementing Federal, State and Local laws and regulations relative to a physician practice required.
Technical Skills:
- Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel - required
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
