We are searching for an Associate Technical Designer to join this amazing team. This position is primarily responsible for managing categories of business under the supervision of the Sr. Technical Designer. This role works closely with the Senior Technical Design and Technical Designer to enhance and evolve processes and procedures as business evolves; broaden technical knowledge and expertise, while continually striving to elevate the quality of the product.
Key Responsibilities:
Create Tech Packs including detailed corrections pertaining to specs, pattern, construction methods and techniques to achieve perfect fit, balance, and overall quality of the garment with the supervision of Senior Technical Designer.- Coordinate and prepare samples for fitting by measuring samples and inputting data into PLM.
- Attend bi-weekly fittings and dross functional team meetings assisting in note taking and fit comment follow up.
- Complete follow up photo sample requests and first fit requests through approval.
- Tracks sample status in PLM.
- Manage alterations, complete alterations requests and maintain status in Smartsheet.
- Assist with checking catalogue copy and web copy for accurate size equivalents, fit attributes, and length descriptions and review website and catalogue images for accurate depiction.
Experience/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or equivalent experience
- 2 years in apparel industry or technical design
- Understanding of fit, balance and garment construction, fabrics, and fabric performance
- Computer literate including Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.), PLM or comparable software experience with computer pattern programs preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present findings in fits and turn overs
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and effectively manage workflow, projects and keep pace with the team
- Self-motivated, creative problem solver with a strong sense of urgency
