Deputy Treasurer- Full Time
Botetourt County is currently accepting applications to fill the position of Deputy Treasurer Full-Time.
Applications are being accepted for the position of full-time Deputy Treasurer to work in the Botetourt County Treasurer’s Office. Candidate will perform responsible, skilled, clerical work, assisting with the operation of the Treasurer’s Office.
Primary tasks include skilled daily operations in accounting, bookkeeping, clerical, and technical work assisting with maintenance, data entry, and balancing of financial accounts and records within the office of the County Treasurer, utilizing accounts receivable, general ledger, and banking systems. Assisting in verifying and entering details of financial transactions; and summarizes details to appropriate accounts ensuring that tax records and bank accounts are balanced and accurate. Ability to perform associated pier group functions, while maintaining compliance to financial internal controls. Performs other duties as assigned under general direction and management support. Fourth person on the front counter as needed and during busy times.

Candidate must have education or prior experience in accounting or cashiering as well as customer service experience; must also be proficient with a 10 key calculator, excel, word, possess excellent public relation and communication skills, letter writing skills, the ability to work independently, be motivated and punctual; willing to be cross trained within the office; be available to participate in on-going educational classes; be able to interact with co-workers and other departments on a professional level.
