Description
SCHEDULE:
- 4 10’s Monday 0700-1730, Tuesday 0700-1730, Friday 0630-1700, Saturday 0800-1830. Call would be every Friday night with weekend call every 4th weekend and holiday call rotation.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for the operation of X-ray, fluoroscopy, CT scan, C-Arm, and bone Density equipment by taking correct and accurate images of designated portions of the body.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/REQUIREMENTS:
- Present information and respond to questions from physicians, patients/residents, family members and other members of the health care team.
- Takes x-rays /CT scan of various parts of the body to assist medical officers in detection of foreign bodies and diagnosis of diseases and injury.
- Transports patients as necessary to the radiology department and preparing them for exams.
- Determines the most suitable anatomical position to Image of the body and positions patient.
- Evaluates Images for technical quality and calculates exposure factors.
- Administers oral dyes.
- Protects patient from unnecessary radiation to unaffected areas with the use of lead protectors.
- Practices aseptic techniques as necessary.
- Makes standard precaution decisions and use isolation techniques, when required.
- Adjust immobilization devices to prevent voluntary movements of patient.
- Sets up and operates stationary or mobile equipment.
- Processes CR Imaging plates in accordance with equipment procedures, limiting repeat exposure.
- Maintain CR Imaging Plates and processing equipment.
- Uses equipment to minimize hazards of shocks, burns and extraneous radiation to patients and personnel.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as situations require to maintain Infection Control standards set by the Hospital.
