Qualifications: Eligible Kentucky Teaching Certificate
Reports to: Program Director
Supervises: N/A
Job Goal: To lead students towards the fulfillment of their potential for
intellectual, emotional and psychological growth and maturation through virtual instruction.
Performance Responsibilities
- Create and send a “Welcome/Acceptance Letter” to each individual student and guardian with all required information (login information, student and guardian responsibilities, etc.)
- Create and invite students to grade level VLA Google Classroom.
- Assign and provide each student with a school issued chromebook as needed.
- Conduct home visits as needed for student and family support.
- Create student schedules with necessary classes to meet all graduation requirements.
- Provide course descriptions for core classes that include honor and AP options, as well as ½ credit and full credit electives.
- Set pacing guides for each individual student and adjust as necessary (with definite adjustment after fall break and winter break).
- Monitor and record student daily attendance.
- Establish a learning environment where students are encouraged and supported.
- Establish rapport with students and their families.
- Modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds and learning needs.
- Provide instructional support in adherence with district policies and procedures during and after normal school hours.
- Provide timely, formative feedback on student work.
- Provide Google Meet conferencing for small group and individual direct instruction.
- Provide appropriate intervention and direct instruction to assist struggling students.
- Communicate student performance weekly with students, parents, and school staff.
- Provide motivation and encouragement to all students.
- Reset quizzes as needed not to exceed four attempts to preserve academic integrity.
- Unlock Computer Scored Tests (CSTs) after proof of lesson mastery achieved.
- Maintain timely records of student performance and shared weekly with students, parents and school staff.
- Issue grades in the APEX Grade Book and in Infinite Campus.
- Collaborate with co-teachers, the special education department, the counseling department, the family youth resource center, librarians, and court workers.
- Plan and provide monthly in-person events to provide social and emotional interaction with peers.
- Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary, work year and benefits, to be according to current schedule.
