Job Summary
Bowdoin College is seeking a reliable and service-oriented Shuttle Driver to provide on-demand transportation for students within the Brunswick area. Operating a 7-passenger van, the driver will deliver safe, friendly, and timely service. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean vehicle, operating a radio communication device, and completing daily and weekly reports.

- The pay rate for this position is $18.00 per hour, and this position is eligible for overtime, shift, and weekend pay differentials
Education/Skills Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s or Vocational/Technical training preferred
- A valid Driver’s license and the ability to meet the requirements of the College’s current Motor Vehicle Use Policy required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and act effectively in emergency or high-pressure situations
- Strong time management skills with a keen attention to detail
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
- At least one year of experience in a customer service-focused driving role (e.g., taxi, chauffeur, shuttle, or bus driver)preferred

Standard Work Days and Hours
- This is an onsite, casual, non-benefit eligible position, working less than 19 hours/week.
- The shuttle operates 7 days a week whenever the students are in session.
- At a minimum, casual drivers are required to work one 8-hour shift per month and are expected to remain flexible to help with schedule coverage as needed. Coverage typically from 5:45 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
