Overview
PROGRAM MANAGER (GXP 2023-19360):
Bowhead is seeking a Program Manager to join our team in supporting Strategic Systems Guidance, Navigation and Control Division (GXP) contract at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division. GXP’s mission is to provide electrical, electronic, and mechanical design engineering, software engineering, acquisition, development, new design concepts, software and hardware platforms, production, test and evaluation, integrated logistics support, reliability, maintenance, and sustainment functions for a variety of platforms, missile systems, and test facilities.
Responsibilities
Essential functions will include:
- Overall planning, direction and success of major programs, systems development efforts, and research or technology initiatives which have great significance to the activities and agency’s needs.
- Being accountable to oversee results of multi-functional project teams that include Engineering Technicians, Logisticians and Electrical Engineers.
- Responsible for the administrative/operational leadership of a project within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
- Monitors project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
- Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
- May conduct performance and project analyses during phase-down to benefit future/other projects, missions, or programs.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering Management and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of professional experience in program or project management is required
- Candidates with a PMP are highly desired though it is not a requirement
- Requires knowledge of and working with DoD programs to include Navy design, support and sustainment efforts
- Prior experience supporting NSWC Crane is preferred
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
