This role will consist in actively participating in the product development process through all facets of the product life cycle, including market research, retail stores audits, data analysis, and creation of new product lines. The Product Development Coordinator will collaborate internally with the departments of Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain, and assist the Director and the Product Development Team in all needed tasks. |
Role and Responsibilities - Create and maintain style and fabric set up and components in PLM and ERP systems
- Participate in trend research and development for all product lines
- Create mood boards, trend reports, line and sales presentations, and inspiration pieces for conceptual product presentation
- Assist in trend and competitive research for complete market landscape, this includes but is not limited to design, construction, color, fabrics, and pricing
- Execute and distribute monthly trend reports and assist in analysis of product life cycle management
- Order and return all concept and competitor samples
- Support seasonal tradeshow, meeting, and sales line sample ordering, tracking, receipt, organization, and shipment
- Daily communication with vendors sales teams, and cross-functional teams for sample ETA’s and WIP’s. Additionally, track all deliverables.
- Daily departmental shipping needs and tracking/shipping information and distribution.
- Maintain and update line changes and distribution to cross-functional teams
- Prepare meeting presentation and collateral, including documentation, samples, etc.
- Maintain and update product and approval libraries- garment, fabric, lab dips, shade bands
- Assist the Director of Merchandising in departmental needs and clerical duties
- Light travel required for industry tradeshows, focus groups, meetings, and departmental trend research
Required Education and Experience - Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or Minimum of AA degree in Product development, fashion design/merchandising, or related fields
- 3-5 Years in product development, fashion design/merchandising, or related field
- Must be organized and work well in a team environment
- Excellent organizational, communication, follow-up and presentation skills with attention to detail
- Comfortable with presenting in small to large sales meetings and focus groups
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)- Highly advanced in Excel spreadsheet functions; pivot tables, v-look ups
- Advanced skills for CAD and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
- Demonstrate attention to detail; high level of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and deliver on deadlines in a fast paced environment. Strong sense of urgency and intuitive sense of priorities & accuracy, with a creative approach to problem solving
- Must be able to learn and adapt to new software systems as it relates to the job function
- Comfortable with working in all facility settings, and must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
