Responsibilities
- Sales: Build relationships with schools, churches, and organizations in the assigned territory. Understand their goals and challenges.
- Membership Growth: Significantly increase youth and family participation in Scouting. Organize new Packs and Troops.
- Program Support: Collaborate with the Volunteer Training and Activity Committees to ensure new leaders are trained and families have access to engaging experiences.
- Marketing & Community Engagement: Work with the Marketing team to promote Scouting through media, social media, and events. Build strong community partnerships.
- Technology & Administrative Support: Use technology platforms for program management, communication, and reporting. Maintain accurate records and timely communication.
- Must be willing to accept and meet Scouting America’s leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Offers for employment are subject to criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks.
- A strong background in marketing, fundraising, sales, or program development is highly desired.
- Nonprofit experience or a Scouting background is a plus, but not required.
- Excellent public speaking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage with diverse audiences and develop strong community partnerships.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and adaptable to new software tools such as Blackpug, My.Scouting, Canva, and Constant Contact.
- Ability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary to support program needs.
- Willingness to travel for training at least once a year for one to two weeks.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (transcript required for employment) OR equivalent experience.
