Overview
Boyne Resorts Retail Division is looking for a highly motivated individual with exceptional experience in visual merchandising. They must have a great personality to be able to communicate with our staff in a professional and courteous manner about our merchandise offerings and should be highly skilled in visual merchandising and creating floor sets and plans. This individual will report to the VP of Merchandise and work closely with the buying, marketing and store management teams. This is a full time, year round position with benefits.
Responsibilities
- Prepare floor sets and planograms for stores seasonally and for events
- Direct staff on product rotations, replenishments and display changes
- Provide reporting and analysis to the VP of Merchandise on a regular basis
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining displays in store, hard goods and soft goods
- Work directly with buying, data entry, warehouse teams on incoming product
- Meet with buyers to review incoming products for seasonal floor resets and items of focus
- Work with stores and e-com for a calendar of featured product displays
- Follow current trends and anticipate changes in the market
- Facilitate store display fixtures, POP and other merchandising display items, source items within budgeted goals
- Assist in store merchandising needs such as custom bags and packaging
- Develop new store floor plans and visuals and create for grand opening events
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years visual merchandising experience
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma with emphasis on merchandise buying/visual merchandising is preferred
- Strong background in merchandising training
- Ability to analyze market research, data and forecasting techniques on visual trends
- Efficient in Floorplanner or other design software for planograms and floor sets
- Ability to be proactive and work under pressure while handling tight deadlines
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills; deadline focused, excellent time management skills
- Operates with a sense of urgency and strives to produce the best possible product
- Ability to organize travel schedule and maintain budgeted expenses to do so
- Experience in merchandising snow sport, golf, outdoor sporting goods preferred
- Experience in merchandising luxury, resort apparel and accessories preferred
Work Environment:
A flexible work schedule is necessary. This position involves working remotely, an office environment (Wixom, MI or Petoskey, MI) equipped to perform daily job functions and free of distractions is expected. Travel is required.
