What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resource Development Coordinator position at Boys & Girls Club of Huntington County?
REPORTS TO: CEO & Director of Operations
SALARY: $20-$25/hour; 40 hours per week
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Generating fundraising income through campaigns targeting individual donors, foundations, corporations and civic groups; writing grants and completing grant reports; overseeing donor acknowledgement; providing coordination to the Board of Directors and Senior Staff in the planning and implementation of special events.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
Provide leadership and direction to the CEO and Board of Directors in the execution of all development activities required to fund the Club operations.
Campaigns Lead and supervise the implementation of Annual campaign Develop a timeline for each phase of the campaign.
- Plan and execute steps for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
- Meet regularly with CEO and board members to provide support through the completion of tasks.
Special Events
- Assist with planning, logistics, promotion and onsite details.
- Identify and recruit corporate sponsors to underwrite event expenses or donate gifts, cash or in-kind services to minimize expenses.
- Ensure recognition of all sponsors and donors.
Grants
- Identify grant funding opportunities.
- Write, submit and manage grant proposals.
- Complete grant reports assigned by the CEO and DOO.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to the Board of Directors, Resource Development committee and special event committees.
- Work with the Marketing Coordinator to implement campaigns and online giving strategies.
- Develop and supervise donor recognition strategies and events.
- Become proficient in using the donor tracking database.
- Attend monthly BGCA Resource Development webinars.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains close contact with CEO, Senior Staff, Marketing Coordinator, financial staff and Board of Directors.
External: Maintains contact with corporate and business partners, potential and current donors and community groups.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years equivalent in experience preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of fundraising, charitable giving and donor relations principles preferred.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with great attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with others.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently, as well as with others, in a collaborative, team environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, Board members, community groups and other related agencies.
- Willingness to sign a non-compete clause.
