Job Title: Site Director
Department: Program
Site: San Elijo Elementary School
Report To: Area Director
Direct Reports: 5 - 7 Youth Development Professionals
Salary Range: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-exempt, Benefits Eligible

Primary Function

Under the direct supervision of the Area Director, the Site Director is primarily responsible for managing the overall daily operations of a Boys & Girls Club afterschool program site. Key responsibilities include ensuring quality program and service delivery, supervision, and training of staff, budgetary planning, and compliance, maintaining positive relations with SMUSD teachers, principals, and custodians, community relations, and membership administration. The position is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the safe execution of Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos programs within the designated site, ensuring that youth members interact with each other in an age-appropriate environment. Additional responsibilities include overseeing homework help and formal tutoring, teen-centered workshops for college prep, providing ongoing mentoring, and workforce preparation. This position is a part of our leadership team that meets weekly.

Leadership & Responsibilities

· Work in collaboration with program staff, site directors, and administrative personnel through day-to-day leadership actions that mirror the adopted mission and core values of the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos.

· Establish, promote, and maintain positive working relationships with peers, staff, parents, community leaders, and organizations; promote a productive work environment.

· Provide leadership and supervision that positively influences effective performance by all clubhouse staff; support the ongoing development and delivery of staff training.

· Attending weekly staff meetings and organizational leadership meetings.

· Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services, and activities within the Club and the community; develop partnerships with parents, community leaders, and local organizations.

· Work internally with other BGCSM senior leadership teams and school administrators to plan and schedule facility shared space needs.

· Responsible for collecting fee based payments from members parents in a timely manner.

Programs and Youth Development

· Implement daily activity schedules, and delegate activity supervision to appropriate staff.

· With the assistance & guidance of the Area Director, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate site programs, services, and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests.

· Provide guidance and role modeling to members to influence positive conduct, safety, and personal development.

· Participate in and provide oversight of the site orientation process.

· Ensure members are encouraged to participate in various program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program areas.

· Oversee and implement Boys & Girls Clubs of America national programs.

· Collect and share stories of impact with Administrative Staff.

· Oversee conduct, safety, security, and development of members and staff.

· Supervise the evaluation of Club programs continually and ensures programs and activities respond to member needs based on identity, gender, and cultural diversity.

· Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, enrollment and attendance, participation, and safety.

Required Skills, Experience & Education

· 3-5 years of working experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth development organization, planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.

· Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED and equivalent experience may be accepted.

· Knowledge of youth development through safe and age-specific after-school programs.

· Demonstrate ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and key personnel recruitment, motivation, and retention.

· Strong oral and written communication skills; in person, over the phone, and via e-mail.

· Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with young people, parents, staff, volunteers, and community leaders.

· Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and expense management.

· Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills (MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Forms) is required, and the ability to learn specific computer programs as needed.

· Demonstrate the ability to organize and schedule a calendar of events effectively.

· Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and a good sense of prioritizing time

management, and follow-through.

· Ability to deal effectively with members and family's discipline and behavior.

· Be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.

· Speak clearly and hear normal conversation and out-of-the-ordinary noise.

· Excellent communication skills: using written and oral skills to influence and engage constituents.

· Ability to sit for an extended period, stand, bend, climb, walk frequently, lift, carry, pull, or move objects between 10-20 pounds.

· Must be at least 18 years old and have valid identification.

· No tuberculosis-pre-employment screening is required.

· Background check- pre-employment screening required.

· Negative drug test- pre-employment screening required.

· Required to obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications upon employment with BGCSM.

Schedule: 8-hour shift – Monday to Friday.

Compensation: BGCSM’s salary and benefits standards are competitive and will depend on qualifications and experience. The benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with a match after one year of employment.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The workspace is in an office environment. Noise levels vary but can be moderate to high during programming.

Ability to commute/relocate – San Marcos, CA 92069: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).
