Job Summary
Primary Function:
· Schedule, plan, and coordinate weekly program delivery of after school program for students to focus on the areas of healthy lifestyles, good character and citizenship, and academic success.
· Develop programs and activities that prepare youth for success in accordance with our mission.
· Accountable for supervision of program staff to ensure the delivery of quality programming. Assist in training BGCW staff on program initiatives and goals.
· Ensure that staff help design and execute a wide range of quality programs that achieve impact and align with BGCA standards.
· Assist Operations Manager, as requested, with record keeping and reporting, administrative and budgeting functions, including Management Tracking System, member data management and other impact-measurement initiatives.
· Collaborate with Marketing Director to schedule, plan and deliver recruitment events and to reinforce a positive BGCW presence in the Westminster community.
· Assist in development of partnership between BGCW and Carroll County Public Schools by interacting with teachers and school staff as necessary to ensure student success and quality program delivery.
· Track member’s progress on report cards to ensure that academic success is achieved and put additional protocols in place as needed.
· Manage program volunteers and maintain the safety of members through effective volunteer supervision and management.
· Distribute Program materials and information to parents and students
· Complete other duties as assigned.
Relationships
Internal:
· Report directly to the Director of Operations
· Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff, other BGCA program staff, Club members, and Executive Director.
· Communicate daily to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions.
· Collaborate with other Sites to leverage strengths and create consistency in quality programming.
External:
· Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents/guardians and others as necessary to be successful in position and as directed by Executive Director.
Location: Westminster
Hours: 10:15 -6:15
Position – This position requires flexibility to work weekends on occasion.
REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED
· Associates Degree plus 3 years in social or youth recreation programs
· Must have an understanding of community life and social forces that influence and affect students, particularly in the less privileged areas.
· Must have the ability to gain and keep the respect of students and parents.
· Must have the energy, initiative and ability to get things done within specific time.
· Must possess a capacity for loyalty and support of the organization’s mission and of goals and the policies of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Westminster.
· Ability to plan and implement programs and achieve desired results.
· Possess ability and aptitude to make decisive decision with the established policies and guidelines.
· Knowledge and/or experience working with a non-profit youth development agency, Boys & Girls Club experience preferred.
· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
· Good organization and attention to detail, professional presence, strong customer relations skills and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
· Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
· Ability to learn and implement new ideas.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Current First Aid/CPR Certification
· Current Maryland State Driver’s License

Pay: $42,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
