Job Summary:
Responsible for oversight of all accounting functions, production of financial statements and reports, coordination of external and internal audits, management of the annual budget process, treasury and risk management functions, compliance reporting, and the development and implementation of Club policies and procedures.

Leadership
- Continually evaluates and seeks to improve and automate financial processes either through technology or efficiencies in techniques.
- Works with a variety of management groups to improve financial effectiveness and protect assets.
- Mentor and develop the financial accounting team to ensure skills are aligned to support department structure and goals.
Human Resource Management
- Supervises Manager of Grant Finance Reporting Planning and Analysis, Manger Financial Planning & Analysis, Payroll Coordinator, Accounts Payable Coordinator, Staff Accountant and Accounting Clerk.
- Manages the staff, interns, and volunteers according to the practices and policies developed by BGCGM.
- Hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff. Conduct regular timely meetings with staff to promote healthy and open communication practices with the team.
Financial Management and Development
- Analyzes financial information to determine trends, creates proactive action plans to protect company assets.
- Responsible for all treasury management functions, including banking and investment relationships.
- Oversees the monthly and annual account reconciliation process.
- Oversee all the preparation of all financial statements, grant reports and compliance related reports.
- Directs the maintenance of investment records and fixed asset records.
- Oversees the internal audit program.
- Directs month and year-end close procedures, manages creation of various journal entries, and directs and manages production of a variety of informational reports to key stakeholders, including government and private grant billing and reporting.
- Maintains accurate documentation and prepares timely reports.
- Oversees the annual financial audit, pension audit, and 990/990T preparation.
Managing a Safe and Positive Environment
- Responsible for all risk management functions including, policy renewals, ensuring proper insurance levels are maintained, the development and implementation of policies that minimize organizational risk and protect assets.
Planning and Management
- Oversees annual budget process.
- Oversees annual external audit
- Oversee financial planning and analysis functions.
- Oversees payroll function, together with external benefits audit and all required filings.
- Oversees the Accounts Payable function and ensures all invoices are processed timely and with accuracy
- Oversees preparation of financial reports for board of trustees committees including internal operating statements and external GAAP format financial statements, including audited year- end financial statements and investment related statements.
Community Collaboration and Partnerships
- Maintains professional and responsive communication and relationship with a wide variety of individuals within and outside the organization.
- Ability to interact and effectively communicate with a variety of individuals and organizations such as bankers, auditors, insurance brokers, trustees, agency partners, vendors, etc.
Administration
- Reviews all financial policies; updates as needed.
- Prepares all Federal and State tax and information returns as required.
- Assists with various projects as needed for the CFO.
- Must participate in required training by the Clubs, county, state, and/or funders
Requirements
Education and/or Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university.
- MBA Preferred
- CPA Required
Skills and Experience:
- 8 years’ experience in general not for profit accounting, minimum of 5 years’ experience in staff management
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting and reporting.
- Advanced computer knowledge and ability to utilize Excel and agency software for tracking budgets and attendance. Ability to learn and utilize new technologies and apply technology to communications, logistics and other key job tasks.
- Ability to manage a team.
- Must have a valid WI driver’s license, good driving record, and meets state required automobile insurance minimums.
