Job Summary: The Boys and Girls Club provides a safe welcoming environment that enables all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Maintaining Office of Child Care Licensing regulations in assigned programs. Provide support and direction to school-age assistants/program aides. Implementing club programming, lesson planning, and overseeing all daily operations.
M-F, 6:45 AM-9:00 AM and 2:45pm-6:00 PM, additional hours for lesson planning, staff meetings, and trainings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uphold all Office of Child Care Regulations to include but not limited to child files, documentation, attendance records, continued training, child safety, and supervision
- Pursues MSDE Child Care Credential
- Submit programing plans to the Director of School-Based Programs 2 weeks before implementation
- Leads and engages during all programming with the youth in care
- Promotes the club and programming to meet enrollment goals
- Builds a positive relationship with youth, and families and school administration
- Attends all staff meetings, and required trainings
- Maintains and builds a positive work environment and culture
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Knowledge of Office of Child Care Regulations
- Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices
- Classroom management skills
- Flexibility
- Ability to be productive and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, listening, and computer skills.
- Customer Service Skills
Job Qualifications & Educational Requirements:
To be considered for a Child Care Teacher, the candidate must: Must be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a High School diploma or its equivalent
- Hold 90-hour School Age Teacher Certification
- 400 Hours working with school-age children
- ADA, CPR, Medication Administration, and Basic Health and Safety Training (preferred)
- Meet the guidelines of the Maryland State Department of Education - Office of Child Care for School-Based Director.
