The Director of Teen and Post High School Services is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and oversight of programs that support the academic, social, and career development of teens and young adults transitioning out of high school. This position provides leadership in designing and managing teen engagement strategies, post-secondary access initiatives, career exploration, and workforce development programs to prepare youth for successful futures.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Oversight
- Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive teen programs, including college readiness, workforce development, leadership training, and life skills.
- Oversee services targeting youth ages 13–24, including high school students, recent graduates, and young adults pursuing postsecondary education or employment.
- Supervise and support program staff, interns, and volunteers delivering teen and young adult services.
Strategic Planning & Partnerships
- Build and sustain partnerships with schools, colleges, employers, training providers, and community organizations to expand opportunities for teens and alumni.
- Lead outreach and engagement strategies to increase teen participation and retention.
- Collaborate with internal departments to align teen services with organizational goals and other program areas.
College & Career Readiness
- Oversee delivery of services such as SAT/ACT prep, college application support, FAFSA completion, scholarship advising, and financial literacy.
- Guide the development of career exploration opportunities, including job shadowing, internships, apprenticeships, and credentialing programs.
- Manage alumni engagement and transition services for youth beyond high school.
Data, Evaluation & Reporting
- Monitor program outcomes and track participant progress using data systems.
- Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders, including grant funders and Board of Directors.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts based on feedback and measurable outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Work, Youth Development, Counseling, or related field.
- Minimum 3 plus years of experience in youth development, education, or college/career readiness.
- Demonstrated success in managing teen or young adult programs.
- Knowledge of post-secondary pathways, including college admissions, vocational training, and workforce readiness.
- Strong leadership, team management, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with diverse populations in underserved communities.
- Proficiency in program evaluation and data management tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (Spanish and/or other languages) strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with platforms like Naviance, Salesforce, or other youth tracking software.
- Experience with grant management or fundraising support.
